Visualizing urban and social ecologies
The project Kond: The Natural History of Networking Architecture has developed a mapping of Kond that provides the first detailed spatial reading of the neighborhood, including an analysis of its urban structure. It shows that the seemingly complicated and irregular layout of the neighborhood is in fact an organic network shaped by the natural landscape, vernacular architecture, and community life. Mapping reveals the neighborhood’s multiple layers, how they are interconnected, and how they influence one another.
